XENIA - The Aviators extended their wining streak to seven straight Wednesday night with a 7-0, shutout win at Xenia.
Senior Evan Ables (6-0) remained perfect on the season with another solid outing from the mound. The righty went the distance, striking out seven and allowed just four hits.
Backed by sound defense and timely hitting, Ables and the Aviators jumped to an early 2-0 lead in the first inning and never looked back.
Junior Austin Flohre returned to form for Butler going 2-for-3 with a double, two runs and a RBI. Sophomore Max Rubins also went 2-for-3 with a double and a run scored.
Seniors Jayden Watkins (2B), Max Frye and Cayden Borchers (2B) each added a RBI for Butler, while junior Alex Ables hammered out a double.
Butler (16-5, 11-3) returns to action at home for a Friday Night Lights showdown against rival Tippecanoe for Alumni Night. The Aviators will honor baseball alumni on hand prior to the game and first pitch is sated for 7:00 pm.
