VANDALIA - The Aviators got back on track Tuesday night under the lights, dropping Piqua 5-3 in a crucial MVL win.

The victory lifts Butler to 18-4, 13-2 and more importantly shook away the yips that had plagued the team over the previous twenty-four innings.

Evan Ables got the start for Butler and picked up the win, working 3.1 innings with three strikeouts and just three hits allowed. Ables was relieved by Jack Williams and Cason Bennett who combined for 2.2 innings and two strikeouts.

Freshman Hunter Richardson came on in the seventh and put away the Indians with three strikeouts to pick up the save.

Gage Harestad went 2-for-2 with a run, while Cayden Borchers, Hunter Richardson, Mitch Thomas and Luke Mitchell had an RBI each in the win.

The Aviators are back in action on Wednesday, hosting Tippecanoe to complete a 3-3 tie in the 13th inning, as well as getting Game Two in the books for the two clubs.
