Aviators Dominate Sidney, Move To 9-0

VANDALIA — The Aviators continued their commanding performance in the Miami Valley League, improving to 9-0 overall and 4-0 in conference play with a decisive 24-5 victory over Sidney on Tuesday.

The Aviators wasted no time, igniting their offense with a five-run first inning. Paxton Dwenger (1-for-1, 2 RBI, Double) set the tone with a two-run double. Max Rubins (2-for-3, 4 RBI, Double) followed with an RBI, and Brody Miller (2-for-3, 3 RBI) capped the inning with a two-run single.

Butler's momentum continued into the second inning, adding six more runs. Mason Reckner (2-for-3, RBI) contributed an RBI single, Rubins added a two-run single, and Miller drove in another run with a single. Additional runs came from a fielder's choice and a sacrifice fly by Koby Dues (1-for-2, 2 RBI, Double).

In the third inning, the Aviators extended their lead with a Rubins RBI double, a two-run triple by Aiden White (1-for-3, 4 RBI, Triple), and a triple from Hunter Richardson (2-for-3, RBI, Triple) that drove in another run.

Butler's offense surged again in the fourth inning, scoring nine runs on seven hits. Davis Ketterer (2-for-3, 3 RBI, 2 Doubles) delivered a two-run double, while Cooper Rife added an RBI single. Russ Stratman and Coby Holland each brought in runs, and Dues added another double that brought in a run.

On the mound, Tate Richardson earned the win, allowing just one run on three hits over two innings, striking out two without issuing a walk. Carson Perry and Will Kitchen provided middle relief, and Jayden Starcher came on to record a scoreless fifth inning in relief, striking out one.

Defensively, Butler was flawless, committing no errors. Jackson Schilling (2-for-3, Double) was instrumental behind the plate, recording pickoffs at first and third base, the latter ending the game after a strikeout.

Sidney's Logan Davis led his team with three RBIs, going 2-for-3. Jordan Shipe also contributed two hits for the Yellow Jackets.

The Aviators will conclude their series against Troy on Wednesday at Day Air Ballpark, with first pitch scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
