Aviators Put Away Panthers 3-2

SPRINGBORO - Nothing cures losing like winning and the Aviators did just that Saturday afternoon with a 3-2 victory over host Springboro.

After uncharacteristically dropping three of their last four games played, the Aviators desperately needed a momentum changing win. The road victory against a very good Panthers team was just that.

Butler got solid pitching from starter Jordan Taylor (2-1), who held the Panthers to just one hit through three innings of work with two strikeouts. Sophomore Mason Reckner came on to pitch the final four innings, striking out two and allowing just two hits to earn the save.

At the plate the Aviators were paced by Cayden Borchers (2-for-4, RBI) and Max Rubins (2-for-3) who each had two hits.

Jayden Watkins, Austin Flohre, Sam Mitchell and Alex Ables each added a hit in the Butler win.

The Aviators return to MVL action on Monday, hosting Fairborn at 5:00 pm.
