Aviators Rout Magoffin County 22-1

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — Butler’s bats stayed hot in Game Two of Tuesday’s doubleheader, erupting for a 22-1 victory over Magoffin County at The Ripken Experience. The win keeps the Aviators unbeaten at 3-0 heading into an off-day Wednesday.

Junior Aidan White led the offensive onslaught, going 3-for-4 with three singles and a trio of RBIs. His performance helped pace a relentless Butler lineup that piled up 15 hits and scored 13 runs in a second-inning explosion.

The Aviators wasted no time getting on the board, pushing across seven runs in the top of the first. Koby Dues ignited the offense with a leadoff triple and later added a two-run single in the same frame. Jackson Schilling and Russell Stratman each drove in runs, while White and Max Rubins added RBI singles.

Butler broke the game wide open in the second, sending 18 batters to the plate. Rubins kicked off the rally with a two-run single, followed by RBI contributions from White, Declan Scheffler, Coby Holland, Paxton Dwenger, Tate Richardson, Davis Ketterer, and more. Richardson and Ketterer each delivered two-run singles during the inning.

The Aviators capped their scoring in the third with an RBI single from Gavin Leonard.

On the mound, Will Kitchen (1-0) earned the win, allowing one run on one hit in a single inning of work while striking out two. Jayden Starcher followed with a scoreless inning in relief, also fanning two without allowing a baserunner.

Dues, White, and Rubins each drove in three runs to lead the Aviators, while Stratman added a 2-for-3 day. Schilling reached base twice via walks, and Butler’s patient approach at the plate led to eight total walks. On the basepaths, Hunter Richardson and Rubins each stole multiple bases as the team racked up six steals overall.

Defensively, Butler played a clean game, committing no errors. Dwenger led the team with five chances in the field.

For Magoffin County, Chance Risner collected the team’s lone hit, and Michael Trusty drove in their only run.

Butler wraps up the spring trip on Thursday with a matchup against Johnson Central at 6:30 pm.
