VANDALIA - Held to just one hit on the day, a struggling Butler offense needed solid pitching and fortunately that is exactly what they got from starter Jordan Taylor and reliever Hunter Richardson in Friday's 3-0 win over Xenia.
Taylor improved to 3-1 working 5.1 innings, allowing just one hit while striking out eight. Richardson worked the final 1.2 hitless innings, striking out four to earn the save.
The lone hit of the day came off the bat of Russ Stratman, resulting in an RBI. Cayden Borchers and Jayden Watkins each added a RBI in the win.
The Aviators will get the weekend off before a Monday matchup at Xenia and the rivalry series with Tippecanoe on Tuesday and Friday.
