COLDWATER - Jack Williams got the W on the mound for Butler (10-1, 6-0) as the Aviators outlasted Coldwater (6-3, 3-0) for a 9-6 win Saturday afternoon.
The Aviators used a stable of arms in the victory, getting quality innings from Alex James (2K), Williams (2K), Cason Bennett (2K) and Jordan Taylor.
Offensively, Butler was led by sophomore Austin Flohre who finished 2-for-2 with a run and RBI. Senior Mitch Thomas had another great day at the plate, turning in a 2-for-3 performance with a run and RBI.
Senior Luke Mitchell delivered a clutch double in the win, while Tyler Severance and Jayden Watkins each added an RBI for Butler.
The Aviators return to action on Monday at home, hosting Troy for an important series finale with the Trojans at 5:00 pm.
