VANDALIA - The Aviators swept away their woes at the plate and swept the arch-rival Red Devils in the process.

After winning Game One with a huge inning, the Aviators blew open a tie game in the fifth inning of Game Two enroute to a resounding 8-2 win over Tippecanoe.

Freshman Hunter Richardson followed up his win in the first meeting with a start in this one. The lefty worked two strong innings before giving way to sophomore Jordan Taylor.

Taylor who was not himself at Piqua a few days earlier, was very much in control of things against the rival to the north. The righty worked five solid innings, striking out four and allowed just two runs to the hard hitting Red Devils.

Eric Morris and Cason Bennett (3-3) doubled as Butler scattered 11 hits in the key win.

With the series sweep, the Aviators (20-4, 15-2) are just a win away from clinching a share of the MVL Miami Division crown. Butler will aim to secure the hardware Thursday night at Stebbins.
