WEST CARROLLTON - Butler (13-2,10-1) blanked West Carrollton 12-0 in Miami Valley League action Tuesday evening.
Cason Bennett (2-0) got the win (5ip,4K,2H) for the Aviators on the mound, working five strong innings. Bennett punched out four and gave up just two hits. Josh Morris came on and closed out the sixth, holding the Pirates hitless.
Offensively Butler continued to see the ball well, scattering a total of fourteen hits.
Boston Smith finished 3-for-3 with four runs, an RBI and a triple, while Carson Clark with 2-for-3 with a triple and three runs.
Bitty Hendricks (2-3, 3 RBI) & Bryce Echeman (1-3, 1 RBI) each doubled. Dylan Hartman, Kaden Echeman and Bennett each added 2 RBI in the MVL win.
The Aviators will return to action on Friday at home in the series finale with West Carrollton. First pitch is slated for 5:00 pm.
