Butler Completes Series Sweep of Skyhawks


VANDALIA - Butler improved to 15-2 overall and 10-1 in MVL play with a series sweep of Fairborn. The OHSBCA D-I #4 ranked Aviators won Game Two in another five inning run-rule - this time to the tune of 14-0.


Jack Williams earned the start and the win for Butler, working 2 2/3 innings and allowing just one hit, while striking out four. Evan Ables (1K), Cason Bennett (2K) and Cayden Borchers (2K) provided relief work from the hill.


Joe Mendy (1 RBI), Josh Morris, Hunter Richardson and Luke Mitchell (4 RBI) each doubled in the win. Austin Flohre added a triple in the melee.


Jayden Watkins and Cayden Borchers each added 2 RBI, while Jordan Taylor added an RBI in the DH role.


With the win over the Skyhawks and the Troy loss to Tippecanoe, the Aviators regain the top spot in the MVL Miami division and now control their own destiny.
