VANDALIA - Sophomore righty Jordan Taylor (4-0) threw a no-hitter Tuesday, leading the Aviators to a 7-1 win over West Carrollton. The win lifted Butler to a record of 11-1 overall and 7-0 in the Miami Valley League.
Taylor was dominant all afternoon, striking out 11 Pirates and issued only two walks in the impressive performance. Armed with an effective arsenal from the mound and backed by a solid Butler infield, Taylor carved through the West Carrollton lineup.
Offensively for Butler, Gage Harestad and Jayden Watkins each had two hits and an RBI. Hunter Richardson added two RBI - while Joe Mendy and Austin Flohre also contributed an RBI each.
The Aviators return to action Wednesday at home, hosting Troy (9-2, 6-1) at 5:00 pm.
