Troy Gets Past Butler 7-6

VANDALIA - As the wins, the titles and the lore grows year after year in Vandalia, the target becomes bigger and bigger. The Aviators know that they will get everyone's best shot - every game - every year.

Reeling from back-to-back upset losses to Fairborn and West Carrollton, the Troy Trojans came to town hungry for a season saving upset. The Trojans got just what they needed in a 7-6 win at Butler.

Opportunistic plays from Troy coupled with a number of uncharacteristic miscues for the Aviators ultimately dropped the Aviators to 10-2 overall and 8-1 in MVL play.

For Butler, the Aviators are still very much in control of their regular season aspirations and will look for a series split on Monday, when Butler travels to Troy for a rematch on Market Street at 5:00 pm.

Ahead of Monday's game, the Aviators will host Coldwater (7-2, 3-0) at noon. Members of the Midwest Athletic Conference, a conference they have won 31 times, the Cavaliers are annually one of the premiere teams in the state.
